The "Smart Eyes" of New Energy Management: ADL200W/ADL400W Series External Transformer Dual-Circuit Radio Energy Meter
Author:
Amid the global energy transition, renewable power generation methods including grid-connected photovoltaics, energy storage systems, micro-inverter systems, and AC-coupled systems are gaining rapid adoption. However, precise energy flow monitoring, efficient management, and anti-backflow control have become critical concerns for both end-users and system integrators. To address these challenges, Acrel Electric Co., Ltd. has introduced the ADL200W/ADL400W series of external transformer dual-circuit radio energy meters. With their high precision, intelligent design, and easy installation, these devices provide a groundbreaking solution for household distributed energy management.
01 Accurately monitor every kilowatt-hour of electricity
The ADL200W/ADL400W series meters are engineered for renewable energy generation systems, featuring bidirectional measurement capabilities to comprehensively monitor active/reactive power in both forward and reverse directions. They provide real-time data on photovoltaic power generation, battery charging/discharging, and load consumption. Whether in single-phase or three-phase four-wire networks, these meters deliver precise measurements of voltage, current, power, power factor, and frequency, with an error margin of ±0.5%, ensuring reliable data support for users.

02 Adapt to complex scenarios
This series of instruments supports dual-circuit energy metering, enabling simultaneous monitoring of two independent circuits (e.g., photovoltaic side and load side) with safety isolation through external transformers. The ADL200W model is designed for single-phase dual circuits, while the ADL400W covers three-phase dual circuits. When paired with D16 specification transformers (maximum current 120A), it meets monitoring requirements across various power levels. The transformers feature UL94-V0 flame-retardant certification and 4000V power frequency withstand voltage, ensuring long-term operational safety.

03 Wireless Communication + Anti-Backflow
The device features built-in Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) and LoRa wireless communication, supporting Modbus-TCP, HTTP, and other protocols for seamless integration with inverters or Energy Management Systems (EMS). By uploading data in real time, it intelligently adjusts power generation, controls battery charging and discharging, effectively prevents reverse current, and enhances self-consumption efficiency. Additionally, the RS485 interface (Modbus-RTU protocol) provides a flexible wired networking option.
The product features a compact rail-mounted design (with a width of just 72mm) and an open-type current transformer, enabling quick deployment without disconnecting the primary circuit. Its front IP51 protection rating (overall IP20) ensures optimal performance in indoor cabinet environments.
Key activation hotspots, status indicators (operating/communication), and automatic phase sequence/polarity detection significantly simplify debugging and maintenance tasks.
Compliant with international standards such as EN IEC 61010,61326, and 50470-3, the instrument features a working temperature range of-25°C to +55°C, dual insulation design, and Class II pollution protection. Key components are designed for long service life, paired with a 24-month warranty service, ensuring user peace of mind.
The Acrel ADL200W/ADL400W series energy meters are not only 'recorders' of energy data but also 'smart stewards' for distributed energy systems. They empower revenue accounting through precise measurement and facilitate system optimization via intelligent communication, infusing technological value into every kilowatt-hour of green electricity.
